Capital of the Alsace region and an attractive and historic city. The old town, a warren of streets lined with timber houses, stands on an island in the river, its skyline dominated by the Gothic Cathedral. The city has many bars, cafés and restaurants, with the liveliest area around the Place Kleber – the perfect place to sit and sip a cool glass of Alsace beer.
