Cote D'Azur

The French Riviera still has plenty of jet-setting glamour, but you don't have to be a millionaire or a film star to enjoy its breathtaking beauty, glorious climate and excellent cuisine. Dubbed the 'Azure Coast' by the French because of its bright blue waters, the region has a rugged, mountanous landscape, which forms a dramatic backdrop for stylish seaside resorts, where million-dollar yachts pack the marinas, and where palatial hotels and chic casinos recall a bygone age of elegance.

It is easy to discover it all, as the train stations are all at the centre of the resorts and train travel is not expensive, but nowhere near as cheap as the buses which have services every 15 minutes from Menton westwards, at the very reasonable price of 1 euro, whatever your destination (maybe not worth it during July & August because of the traffic).
