Cahors

Encircled by a loop of River Lot, the delightful, undulating historic centre is easily explored on foot; of special note among various architectural jewels is the lovely, UNESCO-classified Valentré bridge. A rich gastronomic heritage is evident in the town's many reasonably priced restaurants, with the local Cahors wine a must. Cahors also makes the ideal base to explore nearby Rocamadour and the sights of the beautiful Lot and Dordogne valleys
