Strasbourg

Capital of the Alsace region and an attractive and historic city. The old town, a warren of streets lined with timber houses, stands on an island in the river, its skyline dominated by the Gothic Cathedral. The city has many bars, cafés and restaurants, with the liveliest area around the Place Kleber – the perfect place to sit and sip a cool glass of Alsace beer.

Since June 2007 a new TGV service has slashed journey times to Strasbourg, just 2 hours 20 minutes from Paris or 3 hours 55 from Lille (direct service). French Travel Service offers rail and hotel holidays to Strasbourg, its medieval timber-framed buildings and canals make for a magical setting
