Cassis

Cassis is a small, lively and truly delightful fishing village and seaside resort just to the east of Marseille, in the most spectacular part of the coastline - the fjord-like, red-rocked calanques. Immensely popular with the French, Cassis retains the same charm as that exerted by St Tropez before its colonisation by the jet set. French Travel Service offers rail and hotel holidays to a town which is both historic and picturesque, and makes a great base from which to discover Provence

You could hardly wish for a more alluring, central location than that enjoyed by the Cassitel, overlooking the picturesque harbour.

The style is uncompromisingly Provençal, from the soft ochre shades of the building itself to the attractively tiled interior and décor and furnishing of the 31 air-conditioned rooms. All are with bath or shower, wc, hairdryer, telephone and television, either facing the bustling harbour or, for greater calm, at the rear. Continental breakfast
